A NEW BEGINNING .. A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

As a member of the Committee of the GO Research Fund for the past 5 years, I am pleased to announce my appointment as Chairman.

My commitment to raising awareness of ovarian and gynaecological cancers is paramount. Just as women are aware of the dangers of breast cancer, all women need to be aware of the deadly potential of ovarian cancer as it is so hard to treat once it reaches an advanced stage.

I am continually surprised by how many educated, articulate women who pay attention to their health have never heard of ovarian cancer and have no idea of its symptoms. This lack of knowledge in the community undoubtedly contributes to the high mortality rate.

The GO Research Fund will use Ovarian Cancer Month each February to increase community awareness of this disease, particularly among school girls.

My aim is to consolidate support from our many donors and gain corporate sponsorship to help increase the visibility of the GO Research Fund whose work is vital to finding a screening test for ovarian cancer.
