BARNABY BRITTON - THE WRONG WAY DOWN 2009

UPDATE - Taking South America by storm
What a fantastic effort by Barnaby Britton – he’s given the boys from the Long Way Round a run for their money!
Barnaby’s mother is a past patient of Professor Neville Hacker. Not only did Barnaby travel through South America on motorbike, while on this journey, with the help of his family and friends, Barnaby raised $3180.55 for the GO Research Fund for research and education on gynaecological cancer.
Well done Barnaby, we sincerely thank you.
No bike sponsorship? No film crew? No trophy wives? No idea? Looks like Barney and Pierpaolo are going The Wrong Way Down to South America!
The Locations
Starting in Buenos Aires, the production team will counter intuitively travel down for the first scenes, taking them through Patagonia, all the way to the ends of the earth. From Tierra Del Fuego, it's then a relentless mission traveling the wrong way down through Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador before applying the brakes in Cartagena, Columbia to prevent us from falling into the Caribbean Sea.
This adventure will be Carbon Neutral - they have offset all emissions to be generated by using a Carbon Calculator. Their emission calculations were based on 20,000 km of bike travel and 12,000 km of air travel each. These emissions will be offset by the planting of 86 trees.
Keeping up to date
All people on their mailing list will receive regular to sporadic email updates on the production progress. If you want to be added to the mailing list, email Barnaby at barnabybrittan@hotmail.com
A travelblog link that will be operational in late December, click here to access it.

Donations 1 in 20 women will get some kind of gynaecological cancer in their lifetime.
Chances are someone that you know and love will have to go through the diagnosis of and treatment for this terrible disease.
Your donation will fund research into finding a simple blood test that will
allow all women to be screened for ovarian cancer and diagnosed while the
disease is still in its early stages. Like most diseases, early diagnosis is
critical to effective management and treatment.
Our journey across South America is going to be a lot of fun, and we want to keep you all updated with our progress and photos. However we cannot overlook this as a wonderful chance to raise some money for an extremely worthwhile cause.
Donations large or small will be hugely appreciated - thankyou in advance for your support.
